Beds and instrument tables

Initial situation

The condition of the wooden beds at the Clinique El Jire Rapha was very poor, and their number was in no way adequate for the large number of patients. Many patients slept on the floor or shared beds. Furthermore, at the Hôpital Confessionnel de Djamane Mbarissou, operations were always performed without instrument tables, meaning that the instruments had to be placed on the patient during the operation, which significantly hampered working conditions.

Project

In Hansruedi Zurbrügg's workshop in Koyom, ten beds and two instrument tables were manufactured and transported to Moundou. The beds, with their metal frames, are significantly more stable than the wooden ones. They remain in use and undamaged to this day. The instrument tables were transported to Djamane Mbarissou and are used daily in the operating room.
