Initial situation

 

In Djamane Mbarissou, drilling for groundwater is significantly hampered by the stony soil. Several attempts to drill new wells have failed in recent years. Furthermore, the village's wells were largely dry or broken, forcing the villagers to rely primarily on the hospital's water source.

 

Project

 

In early 2025, with the help of a specialized company from Cameroon, two functioning groundwater wells were finally drilled – one for the village population outside the hospital grounds and the other on the hospital grounds themselves. The hospital's water source was connected to a solar-powered pump and a surge tank, so that running drinking water is now available in the relevant areas of the hospital.
