Initial situation

The Hôpital Confessionnel de Djamane Mbarissou is located deep in a rural area. Obtaining medical supplies, medications, or building materials often requires long journeys to distant cities. Until now, these trips were made using an ambulance provided by the state three years ago. However, if this vehicle is occupied or out of service, the hospital's supply of many materials is not guaranteed.

Project

A Toyota Hilux double cab with a cargo bed was purchased at a good price in Switzerland. After minor repairs and the loading of four donated spare tires, the vehicle was transported to Douala by container ship. From there, it was transported overland to Chad and presented to the hospital with a large ceremony. The hospital now has two robust, off-road vehicles to meet its needs at all times.
