Initial situation

Until the end of 2018, births took place at the medical clinic in El Jire Rapha. The delivery room offered very little space, and especially when several births occurred simultaneously, the hygienic conditions were precarious. This led to the desire for a new women's clinic in Moundou.

In the future, the El Jire Rapha Clinic is to become a reference center for gynecology and obstetrics. This includes employing midwives and gynecologists, as well as other staff. We are also discussing possible support for disadvantaged mothers and children in their medical care (births and complications).

Project

Between 2016 and 2018, a plot of land directly adjacent to the medical clinic was purchased. The building was jointly financed by the clinic, our association, and the American NGO Luke Society, and was completed by the end of 2018.

Electricity and water are supplied via the medical clinic's system. Most of the equipment was taken from the current delivery room and the surgery department.

The official opening took place on December 15, 2018, in the presence of the Governor, a delegate from the Ministry of Health, and local radio and TV stations.
