Initial situation

The Esskoumli health center is located approximately 7 km east of the town of Gounou Gaya. Similar to the center in Zigui Marba, it was built on the initiative of the local population, primarily due to the village's geographical isolation. Especially during the rainy season, evacuating patients is impossible, leaving them reliant on their own care for several months. The simple mud-brick building was very sparsely equipped, yet regular births and blood transfusions were performed there.

 

Project

With the help of the NGO AKWADA from Bongor, we were able to build a new health center for the people of Ess Koumli. It now has enough treatment rooms, a pharmacy, and a delivery room. A drinking water source is available in front of the center, and a solar power system will be installed at a later date.
