Initial situation
Until now, surgeries were performed in a delivery room at this hospital. This room was built and equipped in 2008 by a French NGO to reduce maternal and infant mortality and meets high standards. Since surgeries are more complex than births and no other room was available, they were performed there.
Project
The operating room was renovated, including replacing the windows, refurbishing the ceiling, and tiling the walls and floors. Solar power was also installed, along with air conditioning.
Following this work, the former operating room was converted back into a delivery room and can now be used exclusively for births.
