Laboratory Djamane

Initial situation

Since its founding in Djamane Mbarissou in 2010, the hospital has never had its own laboratory. Laboratory chemical and microscopic analyses were carried out in a separate room without running water, resulting in correspondingly low hygiene standards.

Furthermore, the hospital only had the most rudimentary diagnostic capabilities, such as blood group tests or rapid tests for infectious diseases.

project

Construction began in 2015 but was subsequently delayed for a long time due to financial difficulties on the part of the hospital. The laboratory was completed in 2019 and is now connected to the water and electricity supply.

Thanks to the sensible room layout, the power supply and solid construction, it is now possible to work reliably and under clean conditions even during the rainy season and at night.

In addition to new microscopes, the laboratory has also been equipped with a photospectrometer, enabling biochemical analyses. This significantly improves the diagnostic standard.
