Initial situation

Diagnostic imaging at the El Jire Rapha Clinic consisted solely of an ultrasound machine. It malfunctioned and could not be repaired by any technician. A new machine had to be procured quickly, as it offered many patients the only reliable diagnostic option.

The clinic received support in purchasing the device from China. The clinic itself paid for the transport and customs clearance. Initially, the device was used, but the power supply proved too unreliable. To protect the device, they switched to a small, portable unit that had since been acquired cheaply. In February 2014, the clinic's electrical installations were upgraded, and since then, the new device, providing good image quality, has been in daily use.
