Initial situation

The electricity supply in Djamane Mbarissou, provided by a generator, is always problematic. This is because diesel fuel has to be transported from afar, and repairs always require a mechanic from the town. Of course, the generator remains indispensable for various machines (ultrasound machine, sterilizer, surgical equipment, etc.). If the lights and fans could be powered by solar energy, the generator's operating time would be significantly reduced.

Project

During the installation, eight solar panels were mounted on the roof of the main building. The energy is stored in eight truck batteries and transformed to the required voltage by an inverter. We were able to purchase the solar panels from a large transport shipment from Europe. The inverter is from Switzerland. Hansruedi Zurbrügg from Koyom was responsible for the installation.
